Singleton Woodland Volunteer Group

Thanks go to John Highton and Patrick Allen as well as all other volunteers who have given their time to help maintain the woodlands and new paths within Singleton Park. The Trust has donated money to the group to enable them to buy a small tractor and other tools to manage the woodland and paths more effectively. Since the group was started in 2016 a total of 600 new trees have been planted in Singleton Park. This includes 250 trees that were donated by the Woodland Trust.

Worswick's Farm House

The Trust has submitted a planning application to Fylde Borough Council to create two semi-detached dwellings for rent. The current building, which is in an extremely poor state of repair will be demolished. As part of the re-build, the façade of the existing building will be replaced due to its historic significance. This concept is similar to that adopted recently when the village hall was demolished and rebuilt.

Shooting Rights

I would like to keep you posted on how things are progressing regarding the Shooting Rights over the estate land. Prior to Lockdown, together with the Land Agent I have completed the review of the estate land that has been used for shooting and documented the findings. I have also met up with many residents of Singleton and other interested parties to discuss how they would like to see the estate land used in the future. This takes into consideration the environment, wildlife and conservation. It also includes the sporting and recreational activities such as shooting, fishing, vermin control and permissive paths to name but a few. Good progress has been made however this piece of work is now on hold until Corvid-19 restrictions are lifted. I will update this website when things start to progress again in the future. In the meantime, please everyone STAY SAFE. Kath Smith Trustee
